Install guide

Put CareOpenings on your Home Screen

CareOpenings installs straight from your browser. There is no App Store or Google Play download, no second account to create, and almost no storage used.

About 30 seconds

One-tap install is available

This browser needs the manual steps below.

The address bar and browser toolbar disappear

Installed, CareOpenings opens full screen. The white strip at the top showing careopenings.com and the white bar at the bottom with the back, share and tabs buttons are both gone.

Your tab bar stops competing for the same space

Feed, Photos, Messages and Tools sit on the bottom edge with nothing layered underneath, so you stop tapping the browser by mistake.

Notifications and faster launches

You can turn on notifications for messages and daily reports, and open the app from a Home Screen icon instead of hunting for a bookmark.

iPhone and iPad

Android phones and tablets

Computer

Safari

iPhone 8 through the iPhone 17 series, iPhone SE, every iPad model. iOS and iPadOS 14 or later.

Safari is the only browser on iPhone and iPad that creates a real Home Screen app, so start here.

Steps

  1. Open careopenings.com in Safari and sign in.
  2. Tap the Share button, the square with an arrow pointing up. On iPhone it is at the bottom of the screen; on iPad it is at the top right.Share
  3. Scroll down the list of actions.
  4. Tap "Add to Home Screen".Add to Home Screen
  5. Tap "Add" in the top right corner.Add
  6. Close Safari and open CareOpenings from the new Home Screen icon.

Good to know

On iOS 16 and earlier the Share button sits in the bottom toolbar. On iOS 17 and later it is in the same place, but the "Add to Home Screen" row may need to be switched on once through "Edit Actions" at the bottom of the Share sheet.

Check that it worked

Close the browser completely, then open CareOpenings from the new Home Screen icon. You should see:

  • No white strip at the top showing careopenings.com
  • No white bar at the bottom with back, share and tab buttons
  • The CareOpenings tab bar sitting directly on the bottom edge of the screen
  • You are still signed in and do not have to log in again

If something goes wrong

I do not see "Add to Home Screen" in the Share menu

Scroll down inside the Share sheet. It sits below the row of app icons. On iPhone you may also need to tap "Edit Actions" at the bottom and switch it on.

The install button is greyed out

The browser has not offered the install prompt yet, or CareOpenings is already installed. Reload the page, wait a few seconds and try again, or use the manual steps for your browser.

I opened the link from WeChat, Instagram or Facebook

Those apps use their own built-in browser, which cannot install anything. Tap the three dots in the corner and choose "Open in Safari" on iPhone or "Open in browser" on Android, then follow the steps here.

I installed it but I am asked to sign in again

On some devices the installed app starts with a fresh session. Sign in once inside the installed app and it stays signed in.

I want to remove it

Press and hold the CareOpenings icon on your Home Screen and choose Delete or Uninstall, exactly like any other app. Your account and data are untouched.
